Would a bad headgasket leak oil onto the pavement?

I noticed an oil leak on my car, and have yet to pinpoint where its coming from. I wanted to know if a bad headgasket would cause the car to leak externally? I do have a bad headgasket, hence why I wanted to know if this leak could be related. I was always under the impression that headgaskets would leak internally. Thanks.

It all depends on where the head gasket has failed. It is possible for one of the failed areas to be between an oil gallery and the outside of the head.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yea i haven't really gotten a chance to get under the car, but I checked as soon as I got home today...and it appears that the oil residue (which has built up oil on there pretty good), is dripping at the front of the engine below the waterpump area. It was dark outside, but is that where the oil pan meets the engine? Im hoping its just the pan gasket.

and it is more likely your lower crank/oil pump seals then the pan gasket

I'd try the cam seal first, but having done that, mine still leaks at the passenger front corner of the head. At the age of these cars, all the seals and gaskets likely need renewed.
