    Weird locking issues.

Ever since I put my car back together my locks have been acting funky. I thought while I was welding the area by the trunk that I may have cut a wire in the harness, also I dont think I plugged in the driver side lock, because the key hole does not work.

I checked the harness and it seems clean.

If I lock the car with the key from the trunk or the passenger door (my driver locking mechanism does not work) they just unlock instantly. If I have my windows open and lock it from the inside of the drivers door the doors stay locked.

might ahve shorted the box out. When you were welding, did you disconnect the battery? Ive popped a few fuses from time to time welding on peoples cars...thank god I didnt harm more than that.

That sounds like the central locking module thinks that one of the lock/unlock switches is in the unlock position (a bad switch or a wiring fault).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I didnt disconnect the battery, but I did not blow any fuses. I hope I didnt mess up the central locking system.

Hopefully. Do you think by not installing the outside lock on the drivers door that could be the issue? When I reinstalled the locking mechanism I didnt install it all the way, because the lock doesnt work. Or atleast I dont think I did.

How much does a central locking module cost? TIA

I bet the CLS thinks the door is open.

Yeah, that was the issue. I just fixed it. It was the CLS thinking a door was open. There is two wires that connect from the big wire harness on the drivers door, behind the speaker. Once I connected the harness, it worked.

                Thanks guys.
