    Cold Start Injector?

I have an 86 325 which has been having a starting problem when the engine is cold. I traced the problem to the cold start injector, when the injector is out of the car and voltage is applied it fires fine, so I know it is not the injector but when it is in the car both terminals read a positive voltage and it does not fire. So it seems as though I have lost the ground or something. The manual that I have does not have a good wiring diagram of this, so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows of a relay that might be shot. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I feel confident in saying that the ECM grounds the other pin. You're reading the supply voltage through the injectors coil. I'd pull the leads off of the injector and then trace the one without the voltage back and see what you can find....

Reseat the ECU Connector, trace the wires (which is not fun), replace ECU with a known good one, change out coldstart valve anyway, check Coolant Temp Sensor (I think the ECU uses that to determine a cold start)

or if push comes to shove, install a manual coldstart override :D
