loss of oil after water pump failure?

My water pump had been leaking a little and then one day the seal went out completely. I lost all the coolant and then the temp guage went up to around 3/4. And then smoke started coming out of the hood and from under the car. I was lucky that when all this happened I was about 1/2 a mile from my house so I cut the car off and let it coast to my house. When I got home all the coolant was gone and most of the oil was blown out. I was pissed and it was late so I took a glance at it and then said fuck it and I would look at it the next day. It looked as if the oil had come out around the water pump or around the headers plus I noticed my oil filter was scorched from hot oil. So, I towed it to a friends house and yesterday we took it apart,I figured I had blown the headgasket so we did a leak down test and only one cylinder did good. So, we took the head off, and the headgasket did not look blown, the head was not warped and it was not cracked. The water pump gasket was bad, not the water pump. But where did all the oil come out at? By the time I got it there it had been a week so the oil was dried up from when it blew out. I remember a long time ago I heard from my friends dad (he is a mechanic for GMC) that sometimes when a water pump goes out there will be a hole somewhere that oil can get out and you have fix the hole but I don't really remember.

Anyone know where the oil could have came out at?

Headgasket, the Oil cooler valve on the oil filter housing(if a 325i), a Blown headgasket is sometimes very hard to see, on my m30 cylinder head i couldn't tell any problems with it but once it was clean 5 cracks were found in it. Did you do a compression test along with the Leak down?

where could I find an oil cooler valve? I just did a search on BMA and didn't find anything. I have already ordered a headgasket. I didn't do a compression test because when I got to my friends shop after I got off work he had already started tearing the car down.

Search for a post by Josh, as he had a leak from that area, I doubt it could be that but that is the only other source in that area, minus the front engine seals where oil could of come out of.
