Found the Blew Piece in my Getrag 260 5 PSeed @ PICS

Ok, found the problem in my Getrag 260, when it happened I couldn't shift 2th while I tried to do it very fast since I was racing a friend, neevr engaged.

No, I wonder is the M3 E36 tranny willr eally fit in my m20b25, what I need else, driveshaft? I ask this because and probably I can get a used e36 tranny cheap, and if it owrks with out major mods I think it will worth more than fixing my Getarg 260, any toughts??

    Thanks

    Diego

in the states, the 260 tranny is easy to find cheap. i dont know about your land, so I cant comment.

I personally would find a used 260, and let the boost make up for slower, more careful shifts

There are sme 260 getarg out there, but no so common as your country to find one and very cheap...what I'm doing is either find a new/used piece and replace or in the worst of the case weld it with electro weld with cast iron metal stick (the special one) ... :?

Now, why I have that blue color in both sides, is normal that over temp, friction??? whY?

It is blue on both sides because that is where it was hardened. I broke that same fork in 2 places, along with another one. The shrapnel fell into one of the forward gears and locked me out of them. All I had was reverse.

How many miles did you guys have when this happened?
Well maybe I should ask how many hard miles, Deigo how many miles since you had boost?

It breaking had nothing to do with miles or how hard he was driving.

He forced a HARD shift. Just like I did, and broke the same fork I did (although I also broke another in addition)

What Jordan said, it's true, lately I was shifting hard in second gear and sometimes the 2th didn't enagage, when I parked my car in the street at the side, all that I had was neutral, then tried reverse and it enageg but then it kep stucked in reverse...I had to apply the clutch to tow the car all the way :x

I bought the car with 92Kmiles on it, boosted from 93xxxmiles and now I have something like 96XXX miles on it....

UPDATE, I bought a used part, (that thing that I don't know the name in englsih, FORK?) for about $27 :? in great shape....the guy also had many trans and engines laying arround.

I told him thta I want a m20b25 or b27 block only to see if my S50 crank fits with out major problems, he told also he has an APLINA 2.8 M30 engine in there,I saw it has an special aluminum oil pan, very interesting...the engine came in a e21APLINA directly from germany, he swapped the engine for standar one because a selenoid or somethign like that failed and nver could find one...

I see about the hard shifts. I guess these parts really don't wearout, they only break if you beat on them. I have shifted hard a few times and had no trouble, just wondering about the force you must have apllied.

is this Getrag trans something special? If so what makes it special? I probably sound like an idiot but Im curious, because I have a bunch of parts that I know nothing about. Ive been here a day and found out alot. Went out made some boxes and started seperating all the parts good from bad. I have 2 Trans, I cant look at the right now but If i remember correctly the one was a little different than the other.
