    Gas gauge

there is something wrong with my fuel gauge. I just got my car and filled it up on the way home. I thought I was getting really bad mileage because it was going down pretty quick. I went to the gas station with the gauge on E and the tank only took 7 gallons. This has happened twice now and I really need to get it fixed.

My car has after market gauges and Im thinking maybe the PO messed something up or could it be the sending unit? is their a test for the sending unit?

Take the cluster out and make sure all the screws are tight. Their are two small bolts on the backing side of the cluster bolts one behind the temp gauge and one behind the fuel gauge. Make sure those are tight as well.

If that's not your issue just pull the sending unit out and flip it upside down and see what it reads at your cluster. If it goes up and down to the right points.

Thanks, now that I read that asking how to check the sender was kind of a dumb question but thanks
