Have a 88 325is with a 153 ecu and need to swap in a 173 for a MarkD chip. Is it just plug and play with the same harness? And is there specific vesions I'd want or will any 173 ecu from pick-n-pull work.

You're good to go. It's just a matter of plugging it in, nothing else. As for versions, all the 173's are the same, I think. Had one in my 88is and it worked just fine.
