    Central Locking issues

I'm sure this has been covered before but I am going to post it anyways. My Central locking system seems to have shit the bed. I cannot lock my drivers side door with the key, I can turn the key either way and it does nothing. When inside the car I can lock the door but the passenger door is double locked and cannot be opened. So right now I have one door that doesn't lock and one that I cant open up.

When I am in the car and I move the lock up and down on the drivers side door, I can here the module making noise. I pulled the module and it looks like the PO put a replacement junkyard one in there. I am wondering if its just the module or if the locking system in the door is also bad?

I opened up the module, cleaned it out a bit with some electrical cleaner and it works fine now.

      So either its fixed or.....

I am thinking it might be the cylinder in the door that is having problems. The days it hasn't worked have been low 30s. When I messed with it yesterday it was 65 degrees. We will see the next time its freezing outside.

No, not completely. I've got a bentley laying around somewhere, I will read up on it.

            Basically, here is the deal.

the actuators have 5 wires off of each. 2 of them run the motor (blue and white) in a typical voltage reversal. 1 of them is a ground wire (brown), which runs the other 2, which are the "position indicators", which trigger the central locking relay to either lock or unlock.

Keeping this in mind, go look at your wiring diagram, found here: http://www.wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm

If that makes no sense (it is not easy to understand, no worries) post up here.

R3V will help you (or piss you off).
