idle fluctuating

    idle fluctuating

    when my AC is OFF my engine idles fine.. but when i turn on the AC, the idle fluctuates.. any ideas? thanks.

    It could possibly be your Idle Control Unit. The ICU has separate circuitry when the AC is on (higher idle).

      yeah mine did the same thing except it did it when i turned ac off it went real low and kinda rev to 800 every second or so

        well the engine has to work harder to run the compressor for the a/c its run from a belt. When you turn it off the ICU may take a moment to adjust back to normal I know sometimes when i come to a stop sign and dont stop completly it sounds like the engine might just stall when i go to hit the gas again, and then all the sudden im at like 3500RPM. I replaced the ICU but that didnt fix that. speaking of Idle reminded me I have to change my fuel filter.
