    My MAF Conversion

So far I know i need a SMT6 which i will pic up from gstuning.net

    I found this

which im not sure if its what im looking for. It looks alot like the pictures of the 328is one i have seen. I also found an E34 one on ebay

Im still searching for the 328is one since thats what ive seen everyone uses. If you know someone selling one, if you could let me know that would be awesome.

I know of the ones for sale at www.splitsec.com and they are nice but more money than i need to spend since i can pic up one for less than 100$ I am sure i can find one at a local shop or something.

From what i have read everyone just used the original wiring for thier AFM to hook up the MAF sensor. Or am I missing something?

So I think that about covers all the diffrent MAF´s 3 diffrent sizes from 3 diffrent model cars,

In theory, any maf will work, it´s just a matter how long time it takes to tune each and every one,
So 525 or 325 Non-Vanos, and OBD-II 328 MAFs should work. And 528's MAFs too, etc. Just search through the Bimmer Parts for sale on Bf.c, I found 3 different ones once.

No i read it im just not sure if the parts Im looking at are actually what I need. I know what Im looking for but everything ive found is like sort of what i need. Im just looking for the parts and if you could tell me seriously and truthfully that yes that is indeed the part im looking for than I wouldnt need this thread, because i would already be sure. Your just making everything take longer than it has to

the whole point of the conversion is that the MAF doesn't work with a stock 325i. You need the SMT6 to make it work. If you follow my guide as an outline, you can make almost anything work. Just think open-minded and look at the big picture. Heck, if you use a different MAF, you can make a writeup of what was the same, what was different, and give people some more options.

I have an extra 328 MAF sensor.
I have the SMT6, and from what mspiegle writes its good using the smt6

Why do you want a MAF? do you know what it does and how it works? Maybe you need to start from the basics and instead of searching by the model of the car you could try a BMW part number and cross reference if you have access to a ETK?
