Good luck with the project, and if you have the money for a complete rebuild then do it....you'll end up with a strong engine in the end.

I'd recommend looking into Metric Mechanics HiFlow heads. They sell for around US$1700 and have 16% increase in flow.

            M50 + M3 Cams + Chip + Intake = HP
            And not that much money.

Im not trying to start a m50 v. stroker debate. But not everyone wants to deal with the headaches of a m50 swap. You never know what your getting when you buy a used engine. He will have 0 miles on his 2.8i.

You could put an M50 in twice for $6K.

Or hell, even have a shop do it professionally for that much. $5K gets you turnkey M50 swap, all clean and shit here, with M50 transmission and all that jazz.

I wouldn't mind having an m50 in my car but I want to keep the stock engine for now, and once I get a stoker done i will have more power than i probably should have anyways. :P

Wes, you say you don't want to restart the M50 vs. Stroker debate, but not many people on this board need to see someone invest a lot of money in the M20 for modest returns.

Even Ted, with one of the most badass M20s stateside.....recommends people going for a swap instead.

Bent control arm and screwed the shocks, all fixed now. And I just got a new fender to fix the dent. Good as new and I don't plan on doing it again and more power would not help me with that at all. (at least till I learn to drive)
