well, i just drilled the rest of the bolt out... not much of it left 8) too bad i took out most of the threads on the nut that's welded onto that bracket allong w/ it... just gonna grind the rest of it off & get another bolt/nut to use instead of getting a whole new bracket
btw, i'm talkin about the nut/bolt that goes in the hole on the left side of the bracket pictured above-Pete

Really? Mine rusted off and was rattly/squeaky and so I took it off. Now the exhaust bangs against the bottom of the car, particularly in right hand turns. But yeah, the parts are in the mail.Originally posted by Super EtaMine broke and i took it off and i have been fine with out one. :?
I even have an extra laying around but i just choose not to bother installing it.

it holds the mid-pipe, just "upstream" of the catalytic converter, to the very back of the transmissionOriginally posted by Super EtaMaybe i am thinking of something else. :?

if you immagine it's mounted to the car the way it' oriented in the picture, then you'd be laying with your head kinda behind & inside of the left front tire-Pete

sorry to bring back such an old ass thread from the dead, but I have this exact same problem. I can't find this part anywhere. Bentley's call the part the "front exhaust mounting bracket" and I believe that the one I need is specific to the 318is. Any pointers?Originally posted by Bill 84 318iReally?
