Facelift tailights on a pre-facelift car

well, lets see

reason i ask, i have a 91 318is that some chump ran into and totaled. EVERYTHING on the car is fine; flawless interior, lots of new shit in the engine [118k], done up suspension.

Im looking for a new chassis and have only had luck finding 87 or newer bodys. And, altho i have an 88 m3 and had 2 84 318i's, i HATE those damn tail lights!!!!!

i like 4-doors, and I actually like the late tail lights better than early, i guess im the only one, meh. the only advantage of an early model (in my opinion) is the higher arches, everything else, the late model is superior (in my opinion).

Nah, you're not the only one. I think the early tails look goofy.

late style tail lights are better.... the older ones look like shit.... i hate the reverse lense on them.... they look ok if they are smoked

i'm going to have to strongly disagree with the "late model tails are better" opinion. there's something about them, maybe they are too big, maybe it's just a bias because the m3 never got the later tails, im not really sure. all i know is i really like the old tails better, and even more when they are smoked out.
