    CAI progress.

Found some time today, finished shaping the tubing and got it coated up with krinkle finish. The setup uses a K&N RU-2820 universal 3in inlet air filter. Pipe is full 3in into a billet aluminum afm adapter with a smooth transition to the square afm inlet. 95% of the adapters you see on ebay have no transition, just a wall.

I started cutting out a cardboard template for the heat shield today. Hopefully I can finish that tomorrow. It will be WELL shielded from the engine temps where it is, plus the heatshield will also do its thing.

Doesn't really sound much different then my previous stock airbox (drilled) with a K&N panel filter at low rpms. If anything its slightly louder and deeper. Boy does it roar over 4k though.

The ebay adapters are a square sheet of metal, with a square cutout for the afm inlet. Welded to that flat plate is a 3inch cylinder. No internal transition, makes for extremely turbulant air.

My adapter is billet aluminum, and has a smooth cnc machined transition from a 3in circle to a 2x2in square. Beyond that I ported and polished the adpater for maximum smooth flow.

I didn't bend the pipe. I bought a 90º bend from a local parts shop and cut it to my application. The K&N panel filter sold a couple days ago in the FS+WTB forum.

No, I don't. I don't plan on spending any more money on m20 specific parts because m20's aren't where its at.

A 24v solution is in my future, not sure when though.

Where is your radiator shroud? It channels the air mor efficently.

It broke. I run at 1/4 temp anyways, I'm not worries about channeling air through the radiator. I don't want to run any cooler.
