yes either my gas gauge is messed up or im burning alot of gas, cuz i put about 3-4 gallons every few days. im scared of running out of gas. when i first bought my car the o2 sensor was disconnected ever since i conneted it, the gas milage went to hell.

anyone know a way to just hook up another gas gauge?

Where can I look up fault codes?

I've got one, 1444...just don't have a clue which fault that is.

Probably because the previous owner realized the O2 sensor had degraded into worthlessness. Sounds like a new O2 sensor could save you way more than it's cost in fuel over a couple of years.

If anyone on this thread needs a 02 sensor, I ordered one because my mpg took a dive, but after realizing hot air intake, going to replace spark plugs and air filter.......i think I might not need it. You'll save a few dollars, and I won't waste all the $.

                  Yo Trevor,

I just replaced my cracked, leaking fuel lines + old fuel filter and the dirty old air filter.....
and the gas mileage has very much improved, as far as OBC is concerned.

Just did it yesterday, so no long term tank MPG calculations, but it is very much better compared to before. Like 24mpg on the OBC versus 29 mpg.

Also, I've recently replaced the cap & rotor, so maybe do that as well.

i was able to go 80 miles on 1.5 gallions of gas, dunno how it was possible, but 60 of the miles were at 90 on the freeway.

Two tankfuls on what used to be my father's '92 325iC, which is now *my* '92 325iC, and I'm averaging 24.4mpg, which the OBC thinks is 22.5. It's better than I thought it would be...this thing *is* a brick, after all, and weighs a couple hundred pounds more than my 4-cylinder '94 Accord, which gets 29.0 mpg (over the last five years).

Hate to be bringing back an old thread, but it's related (and that's always better than an repost). I've been noticing my gas milage going down, and this is towards the 70k mark for my car. Am I looking at an O2 sensor change?

I could be being paranoid, but I've been hearing this the time for the O2 change, but I will calculate my MPG on this tank soon. I was getting 29mpg a tank before.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.
