      Unless you have some issues with your cooling system you're trying to hide by putting the fan shroud on, no, it's not needed.

          It may also depend on your climate. I know that down here in Florida in the summer months it is a definate improvement. I went from running at 3/4 up the temp gauge at stop lights to less than 1/2 while sitting. So from my experience it is a definate improvement over nothing. Plus I think it cleans up the look of the engine bay and so I can't see any reason why someone wouldn't run one.

            My car runs at a max of 1/4 on the temp gauge in the summer, hence why I'm removing my shroud for the winter

              well there’s something wrong if it runs at 1/4. it should be 1/2 min! i would say that your thermostat needs changing, and im sure your fuel efficiency will go up too.

                  That does not make sense, a lower temp thermo wont cool the car down by a whole 1/4 on the temp gauge. Anyway im only telling you how its meant to be, you are under no obligation to listen to me, but i would not run my car at such a low temp.
