bad idle

my idle is very ruff, when i come to a stop my idle dips down, never stalls but very low, then up high. it does this about 3 times when i come to a stop then levels out. my idle air stablilizer is only about 2 months old, can you program this unit. what are some other things i could look for. and if it sounds like a vacum leak to you guys, where, if any, would be a common place to check first. i was having some troulbe keeping a battery charge could this have any affect on this topic. thanks
