Car stutters

Ok - quick question - when pulling away from a light the car hesititates a bit and then goes. I have also been noticiing more than usual black residue on the tail pipe and under really hard acceleration a "puff" of smoke. So sounds like it's running rich, right?

Anyway - s52 with obd1 conversion - bav auto tri-flow.....where do you start troubleshooting?

have you checked the fuel filter?

Fuel filter, plugs, O2 sensor, and don't overlook the TPS.
