My tach is bein a lazy slut

so my tach decided to stop working on my '89 325is a while back and i've gone for a while without it, but i'd really like to know what kinda revs im turning... bavarian otto told me to buy a $120 control module for the cluster and i sed hell no... some1 told me to check the batteries.. i have no idea...

any suggestions?

used cluster or Si Senor batteries

go to radio shack and give them the name of the batteries that are already on th SI board and they will give you some replacements. Throw the new batteries on the board and your problem is solved. i did this a few months ago...it also fixed my MPG gauge.
