    How do i change a in bowel oil filter on 318is ?

    I've read bpurcells thing on his site but where the hell is this 13mm hex that i need to remove so i can change the oil filter ?

    Do you have an M42?
    I don't quite understand your question but you seem to want to change your oil.
    If you see the canister which I think you are referring to as bowel, you will see the nut.
    If you buy the oil filter kit, you will see there are gaskets and washers in it for the
    canister, rod and oil pan bolt.

      Yes i need to change my oil and oil filter, so the filter is inside that weird looking canister ? I have never changed the oil on my car yet and have done to other cars and i'm use the the normal oil filter on the side of the block.

        Also do i need to torque the oil drain bolt at all ? or just the oil filter canister bolt ?

          just hand tighten it, but not too tight. The filter is just a drop in. Very easy to do.

          Oh yeah, change the gaskets that come with the filter.

            I didnt get any gaskets, only got an o-ring seal.

                Yeh i've done it, the washers are a part of the filter, they are joined on top and bottom.
