One question mark is sufficient.
Isn't the alternator on an adjustable bracket?

you can release tension in a belt by pivoting whatever your trying to remove it from..
ok, that made no sense. anyway, waht i meant.. is if you look at a belt, such as the alternator belt.. the alternator is held on the bottom, and could pivot from the top. if you look at it, its self explanitory... loosen all the bolts that hold it on.. and you should see at the top there is an odd looking nut that works like a ratchet, that you can loosen and tighten to add or relieve tension (moving the alternator's angle..)
same principle for the p/s belt.. for if my shitty explanation made any sense to you.
the belt could still be difficult to put on or remove... just requires a lil prying, and sometimes trying to slip on (or off) the belt by turning the pulley

19mm box wrench, 13mm box wrench and or a 13mm socket. Plus maybe a Flat head screw driver are all you need.
All three of the acc. have a large 19mm toothed adjuster. Loosen the 13mm nut on the firewall side, and turn the 19mm nut to either loosen or tigthen belt tension, use the flat head to pry the new belt on or off.85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker

I always remove the air cleaner box when I change belts. Makes it 10x easier, and all it takes is two 10mm bolts and one 1/4" clamp. Basically realease all tension on the belts (adjuster nut closest to block) and slide the old belt off and the new belt on. All the belts work on the same principle. I actually drive around with a spare alternator belt just in case I'm in the middle of nowhere and it decides to fall apart (like my other brand new one).
