Massive restriction of air flow. Without a forced induction device to provide pressure to move the air through the ic it would not be a good idea.

The only reason to intercool a FI engine is because the process of compressing the air generates a lot of heat and raises IAT, so you need the intercooler to bring the air back down to ambient temp.

NA engines breathe ambient air, making an intercooler absolutley useless.
