Wouldn't it improve the performance or would the cooler be restrictive and add weight that would make this not useful?

The only reason to intercool a FI engine is because the process of compressing the air generates a lot of heat and raises IAT, so you need the intercooler to bring the air back down to ambient temp.
NA engines breathe ambient air, making an intercooler absolutley useless.Comment
