if you're worried about not spooling properly through the low gears, why not supercharge instead? That way you don't need the new exhaust manifold (although your stock mani probably doesnt flow too well, on low boost it will be fine).
Supercharge it! Bosch #19 injectors would help out, and so would a higher flowing exhaust.......then again, so would an M20B25.
From what I remember, FI makes tourque more than horsepower. The eta is in desparate need of horsepower, not torque.
Swap the motor out I say. This is a pretty bad topic....ETA motors are made to:
a. Be driven around for 400k miles while getting great gas milage and torque.
or
b. Be replaced by 2.7i strokers, m20b25's, m50's, s50's, blah blah anything really. They're not fast motors.
