my tank in my 84 325e is leaking, i am pretty sure the filler neck has rusted through where it joins the tank. can i use the gas tank from an 87 325is? are the fuel pump(s) the same?

I believe the tank and pumps are the same until 9/87.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
