    Collant light

Ok guys, I have a 88+ engine bay layout in an 87 chassis (and wiring harness). The 87 coolant bottle is on the passenger side (more or less) and the 90 style that is in teh car is on the passenger side. I extended the wires over to the passenger side and hooked it up. The coolant light remains on. I was curious if the sending units for the 2 bottles are different? How do the sending units differ if at all? How do they work? (it wasnt a floater type sending unit). thanks guys
