Aftermkt Gear knob and handbrake handle

Just got myself an aftermkt DTM gear knob (manual) + handbrake handle but after peeing back the gaitor, cant find the 3 allen key screws on my stock gear knob to remove the knob and swap with the DTM :(

Try searching for this simple DIY thread but cant find it.

    Any kind soul can help?

Straddle the gearstick. Make sure to aim the shaft at either your balls or your nose, and pull really hard.

        Always happens the first time.

I rotate it while applying upward pressure. Works every time. There's no way I'm hurting myself pulling off a shift knob, I save that for bigger stuff involving sharp objects and power tools.

sawzall, who needs a knob anyway?

seriously tho, it should come off with the proper application of force/rotation

Try sitting in the back seat, put the tranny in 4th and pull. Be sure not to hit yourself in the face.

It's the debt you have to pay to your e30. Kind of like an owner's tax.

If you don't accept the knob bruise, your car deems you unworthy of wielding its power.

I think there's a thread somewhere where people shared their stories of knob removal.

I smacked my nose from the bottom up my first time, left bruises under both my eyes for 3 days.

Had to do it.... Cut whole lever in half and installed short shifter. Some idiot super glued old knob on, fucking asshole. Oh well, super glue was better than looking for my shift knob in the back seat after going into second.
