    Safe to drive?

I've hesitated on driving my e30 for a while due to what I orignally thought was a torn subframe. However upon further inspection its a torn sway bar tab......Could I drive the car in this state with the torn tab? Or should I try to "reinforce" it with a couple hose clamps or should I avoid driving it for safety reasons?

The main use of this car would be to drive to and from school, all of 3 miles round trip. If its fine to drive otherwise I'll continue driving it until all my new suspension parts come it

I would think you'd be ok to drive it all of 3 miles. Maybe disconnect the end links to take the load off of it, so you don't further destroy the mounts.

Sway bars are not required to drive the car safely.

I wouldn't try racing or anything like that though.

cool, I may just get it welded like that cus I'm not gonna replace the sway bar, and its not like anyone in the future is gonna take out the subframe.

To state the obvious. Why dont you just put in new bushings and brackets?

^ Need to either fix that sub frame or get a new one. If you look at the photo the bracket that holds the bushing in is fastened to a tab on the subframe...

Needless to say I've been driving it, steering seems a bit numb, but its been making the trek to school and back fine, the tab has come off all together, however a new bracket and tab will be welded and bolted in soon to replace it

Wrong (in this case). It's just the sway bar mount. You can very easily and safely drive a car without a swaybar. There is nothing dangerous about it.
