Question on reverse light switch

I have a 1989 325i auto(for now) that has no reverse lights when i put it in reverse. What is the reverse sencer at the bottom of the shifter called. I've found a million for 5speeds but i cant seem to find one for an auto, so obviously im looking for the rong thing. out of ideas of what to serch for?...any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks
