    Rebuilding differential anybody done it?

I have a 2.93 with LSD in my eta that has a noisy pinion bearing. I would like to try replacing the bearing. I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find the specs and parts list for doing this.

the one thread I found about this suggests talking to the guys at Metric Mechanic which I am going to do, I'm just wondering if anyone here has tried it.

I do realize that an open diff can be had for relatively cheap but i would like to keep the lsd if i can, IIRC you can't just bolt in the limited slip clutch pack into an open diff can you?

No, they use different carriers, but the entire carrier assembly IS interchangeable in the same case. Honestly, I don't miss an LSD for much other than donuts. Even in low speed turns in 1st or 2nd, I can light both tires at will and throttle steer. I'm running 4.10 BTW. If you don't plan to put a whole lot of power through it or don't need donutability, consider the cheaper route of a good used open.

    Donuts ARE fun though...
