    oil pressure question

er, i dont recall ever being able to check the oil with the engine on, but it seems like i used to be able to. anyway, i just changed the oil, and whenever i take the dipstick out to check the oil while the engine is running the pressure drops and i know the engine will shut off if i let it. after i put it back in the idle goes back to normal and all is well. is the dipstick part of the pressurization and i have no problems or what?

Loss of vaccum when you take the dipstick out.

As far as I know nothing should be wrong. I did this once back when I first got my car and the idle dropped and the car almost stalled. Seems to me that you just lose vaccum when you pull the dipstick. Hope all is well.
