    car failed emissions

    the failure was in the CO level.

    Standard = .91
    Mine = 2.96

    what do you think is wrong?

    it also failed for "wires under dash exposed", but i think i got that "safety problem" covered.

    the car is an '87 325is if thats any help for the diagnosis

      Was the car warm? Did it have old gas in it? When's the last time you ran fuel system cleaner or anything of the sort through it?

        here are all the readings:

        format: standard reading / what the car measured
        NOx -----1227/446
        HC ------162/153
        CO% ------.91/2.96

        the car was warm... and for the 30 or so minutes it was on before going to get tested, it was beat to hell like its never been before. gas was 2 weeks old (91+ octaine, stock chip)... i've never ran anything through the fuel system..
