    Transmission gear ratios...

I can't seem to find these anywhere on the net. Does anyone know them, or know where I can find them. I drive an 87 eta, since that may be important. thanks

Getrag 260 is what is in your car.

    1- 3.72
    2- 2.20
    3- 1.4 (or 1.6, I cannot remember)
    4- 1
    5- .805

318's have similar ratios, but with 1st gear being shorter at 3.83 (to help the torqueless 4 shooter get off the line) and a 2.02 2nd gead.

Just quoting my man Bobby Bentley.

        Getrag 240 (for M10)
        1 - 3.72
        2 - 2.02
        3 - 1.32
        4 - 1.00
        5 - 0.81

ZF S5-16 (also for M10, but more rare)
        1 - 3.72
        2 - 2.04
        3 - 1.34
        4 - 1.00
        5 - 0.81

        Getrag 260 (M20's)
        1 - 3.83
        2 - 2.20
        3 - 1.40
        4 - 1.00
        5 - 0.81

        What's your source, Stu?

          The old man. :)

Regarding the 1st gear, I think they switched them around. They used the 3.83 in the 4cyl cars to get them rolling in 1st gear easier, but made a bigger drop hitting 2nd.

          Our ratio's suck anyways....Euro Doghouse owns. :D
