    what octane fuel are you using?
    - 2000 Audi S4 Stg 2 (sold)
    - house (bought)

        How many miles on the engine, what maintenance has been performed.
        How's compression? Have you looked at the spark plugs? How does it drive off idle.?
        I'd monitor the afm to make sure the door isnt sticking in any position. Closely inspect the afm rubber boot for holes or cracks, Maybe the idle control valve is full of carbon, it could be lots of things.

        I wouldn't blame the chip, that'd be the last thing, I'd blame your long periods bouncing off the revlimiter. There may be engine damage, or something else, lol.
