    OIL SLICK!!

I cannot find a hole or even a crack in my oil pan, but when i had the front end in the air iol dripped from between the engine and trans.

You think i just need a new pan gasket?

Possible rear main seal leak, or pan gasket.
Hard to tell without seeing it.

is it possible to remove the pan by only lifting the front end? I do not want to have to drop the subframe.

If it is the rear main i am fucked

You have to either remove the subframe, or unbolt the motor mounts and jack up the engine.
Otherwise you won't clear the strainer on the pump.

Just support the engine with a hoist or something, and remove all the bolts that hold it in....

You won't have to remove the subframe to do the rear main seal....

how many hours you think a rear seal would take to replace, it may be a job for a mechanic.

Its about a 5 minute job when you had the engine out of the car. Its part of basic engine prep before tossing it in. The rear main seal is so cheap, I can't believe you didn't replace it then.

Only excuse I see is ignorance.

all seals should be replace before a motor goes in imo.

since my 84 body is such a POS and I have learned quite a bit, i am gonna redo the swap into a 87 es and do it right this time, since there will be no time issues
