    beeping sound?

For the past couple weeks, I have been randomly getting three "Beeps" that come from the lower dash area, on the left side. Does any one know what this means?
    Thanks

No, its like 80 degrees, and I think the OBC beeps in the center.
Any other suggestions, thoughts, or opinions?
      Thanks

        When exactly does this happen?
What does the temp on your obc say? Perhaps it's inaccurate.

Well it would use the chime under the drivers knee bolster.

Last time it started to beep I looked over at the OBC, and it had the time of 4:32 on it. Then, I switched to temp. and it was at 78 degrees. The sound is three long beebs, almost kind of like when you open the door with the key in the ignition, except its only 3 beeps. This happens at random times. When I was leaving to go to work today it did it, and when I was comming back it did it twice.
          Thanks

You can set the OBC to go off at lets say 65 MPH to let you know that you are above the speed limit.

Check your speedo next time it does it and then go slower then speed back up to the normal speed you were at.

if "memo" is set on your obc, it will go off some number of seconds before every hour, because germans are wierd like that.

                  Is it your casette player?

Is it your casette player? If you're playing a casette in the OEM radio/casett player, after so many hours of use, the player will beep like three times and the display will momentarily read "CLEAN" indicating you should clean your tape heads.

That's it. At first, when it beeped, I looked at the head unit(has the correct time on it), but then I noticed that my OBC is off by like 20+ minutes. So, next time it beeped i saw it.
                    Thanks

For the first month or so I had an E30 that noise confused the hell out of me. I actually never figured out the problem, as I disconnected the noisemaker under the dash after getting fed up w/the noise when I had the door open, etc.

I figured it out a couple weeks later after reading a similar post to this.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

it's so you can hear the on-the-hour news updates on the radio.

                            Per today's drive:
The single beep is 38 degrees.
Three beeps? Dunno. I have the same problem and have been wondering that myself.

I had the three random beep thing happen twice before -- both times on the skidpad. I'm not 100% sure, but it may be oil pressure related? (Maybe -- I still don't know what caused the beeps.)
