my chassis is a 1988 325 and the engine is a m50 based. i am running the e30 starter, and have been this way for atleast 3 years, with no issues. the other day i went to start the car and the battery was dead. i hooked up the charger and realized my window switches were lit up with the ignition off. i have replaced the relay with a known good one, verified my connection to the starter and between relays. if i pull the relay while the key is off and reinstall it, the circuit powers down. as soon as i turn the key on again, the problem happens all over, until i remove the relay or disconnect the black/green wire from the starter. with the ignition off i get continuity between the black/green and chassis. is this supposed to drop ground? maybe my starter is bad? any help is greatly appreciated.

who knows then. seems like something is back feeding the ignition system but only enough to trigger that relay. you can maybe try pulling fuses one at a time and see when the window switches turn off. that would narrow it downFirst: 1984 318i
Second: 1987 325
Third: 1987 325is
Current: 1990 325i (Soon To Be 335i)
