Im trying to figure out why I dont have brakes and this hose is pretty shot. It looks like it goes into the firewall....what's its purpose and where does it go?

And does it end right there or go into the firewall? Seems pretty tricky to get too. Is that supposed to be filled with brake fluid? After I replace that I would assume I need to bleed the brakes?

it goes through the firewall to the clutch master cylinder because the clutch and brake masters share the same reservoir. and no you dont have to bleed anything. just change it and top off the brake fluid

It'll still need to be bled.

Depending on how long it has been low. OP already said his brake pedal doesn't feel too good. So yes you will need to bleed brakes and clutch. Judging by the pics it looks like your brake system needs a flush anyway.
