So I finally got some H&R springs and gas shocks! The only problem is that I have to have access to the trunk to install them, and my trunk will not open. I have the key to the trunk and was able to get it to turn and push in but it still did not open. I have a spare E30 in my backyard I can take parts from... but I just need to get the damn trunk open so I can install the shocks and springs. So far I have tried WD40, wiggling, screwdriver, and a lot of cursing. Needless to say I am stuck and need some advice. Thanks all!

Heres how I did mine. I removed the back seats and popped out the metal cover for the ski whole. Get a small, skinny friend to slide in there and use a wrench to unbolt the trunk latch from the trunk lid. Once the trunks open its a hell of a lot easier to take everything apart. Also a flashlight is extremely handy since its pretty dark in the trunk.

Ya i figured I might have to resort to that... There is one issue though. I looked in my parts car (a 1984 325es totally stripped out) and I saw for that car at least there IS NO SKI HOLE. I am guessing they included the ski hole for a later model year perhaps? I was thinking that since the 84 has no ski hole that the 85 probably does not have on either. Is there any other way? I dont mind breaking the lock off to get access to the trunk. I mean, my parts car has all the replacement parts I would need I suspect. How do I brake off the lock? lol
