We just recently put some miles on our E30 SR20 hillclimb car at a local autocross to test out some settings. This swap is so awesome for the E30. The weight of the engine/transmission is less than the m20 motor alone and 300-350whp is very attainable with relativly cheap parts. I agree that the S14 is one of the best motors ever produced but even a 300whp motor will cost you 20K. Fresh group A 2.3 motors go for high teens.

Here's some details on a local SR20 powered E30 here in Australia. I'm pretty sure this is the one referred to earlier in this post as having 150rwkw.

            Enjoy!

hmmm. I need like 2 more parts and about 60 hours to complatet my car. I might make it. That is like 10 days away. I would love to go even if my car isn't done though. It would be a great debut for the finished project though. I would trailer it if I go, so I can bring a cooler and lawn chairs and stuff.

Thoes guys at KFG look like they have it down but their prices are a little steep. SRE30's website has a nice write up and showed how simple it can be. The KFG kit seems a little over engineered, but they are dedicated to giving the novice the best help there is and all the parts you need.

i have an sr20 powered 240sx that makes around 350whp and i've never snapped a rocker and i rev it to 8k everytime i drive it. I also have a turbo m20 325is and while its A LOT slower than the 240sx the powerband is much better. i'm going to go with a bigger turbo/injectors/fuel system, boost it up to around 15-18psi and then i'll decide if i want to swap my sr20 into it.

just noticed on the initial site that the SR they used is from a GTi-R....individual throttle bodies. Most conversions use the 200sx one. I'm super keen to do this once i finished uni and have the $$ to throw away.

as for bastardization, meh who cares. a guy over here in NZ pulled 260rwkW. about 400 hp at fly if not more. I could deal with that.
