    water pump

I just had a hose replaced in my cooling system, and while my shop was trying to find the location of the leak, they found a "pin-sized" hole in my water pump. However, they recommended I look into when it was last replaced first, as it looked fairly new. Anyways, I went through the receipts from the PO and found that it was replaced in mid january of this year, about 10,000 miles ago. My question is this - is it worth contacting the shop that replaced it last and seeing about them replacing it again at their cost (because 9 months doesn't seem long at all for the pump to last) or am I out of luck on this one. Thanks

call the shop and let them know, it doesn't hurt. They'll probably want u to bring it by so they can have a look.

Most shops handle come-backs pretty well, jus be mature about it.

You had a hose in the cooling system replaced by a mechanic? I don't even want to ask how much you shelled out for that.

Replace the water pump yourself, they are SUPER cheap, and you will save so much money doing it yourself than going to a mechanic.

I stopped taking my last E30 to a mechanic when he charged me almost $260 for a valve adjustment. Seriously, working on these cars is so easy... :D

The hose was between the firewall and the head, below a bundle of cables, and with the equipment and space I have at my apartment, I didn't really have an option. But yeah, it cost way too much.
