Ok so after 11 pages of searching through Central Locking issues, I may have a lead on what wrong but I'm not completely sure because I can't find a thread that fits my problem exactly. So here's the deal.
For the past year or more my front passenger (4dr 325i) door lock actuator was broken. It gave me a buzzing noise sometimes locked up so I couldn't unlock my passenger door with Central locking, I physically had to pull it up. Of course this threw off the central locking system causing it to immediately unlock when trying to lock from the trunk. Eventually after 5-6 tries the other 3 doors would lock.
I recently replaced the door lock actuator with a working one from my parts car. I pulled the entire locking mechanism in the door to inspect it and made sure none of the little arms were not bent. Everything checked out so I reinstalled everything including the new actuator.
I no longer get the buzzing from the actuator but the central locking is still screwed up. I still have to try ~5 times to get the doors to lock from the trunk. Now the trunk can magically unlock without the main doors unlocking (sometimes) and when the doors do unlock the front passenger still seems to remain locked, but only some of the time. The Front Driver side door no longer opens all doors with the tumbler but if I manually do it from the inside of the car it works.
I don't remember the last time I actually tried to open the passenger door from that side with the key. From what I have read it is a possibility that the passenger lock tumbler is broken and is keeping the central locking from working properly. Is this the most viable possibility? What else could create this issue? It's clearly not the module or anything else as the problem is clearly affected by the passenger door.
Also, I am planning on installing keyless entry into the car very soon. If it not the tumbler should i just simply not worry about it and the keyless entry will take care of the problem when I convert? I'm not sure how this works but from what I've read that may be a solid fix.
