Emergency!!!! 1st and reverse gear hard to shift
Hey everyone, so I took my E30 out for a drive yesterday and when I was trying to shift into 1st gear it was getting noticably more difficult. It felt like the gear was stuck and it wasn't as smooth as it used to be. And then when I tried shifting into reverse, same deal but even more difficult, then when I finally got it into gear it sounded like they broke and were moving around inside the tranny. Could this mean the synchros are going bad?

Well, something having broken aside, difficulty shifting can be anything from broken engine/trans mounts to the shift linkage being severely worn to clutch/TOB issues to worn/bent transmission internals. You'll need to start looking at components and testing them. -
Would that include all the gears or just some? Cause only the first and reverse gears are hard to shift into. The others are fineComment

Depends entirely on what's wrong, and it could be multiple items. I'd start with mounts/linkage.Comment

I am having similar issues.
but my problem is intermittent hot or cold?
shifter does not seem sloppy.
change tranny fluid to redline.. helped a little
