Can a turboed M20 be federalized?

I am planning on bringing my E30 back to the states with me and having it federalized. I want to start building a turbo kit. Should I wait until I get there. I don't know what state I will be living in either.

It would probably be the safe course to wait until you are back in the US and settled to add the turbo. Some states, like California, have very strict emissions requirements. Which could be a problem for your turbo plans.

Yeah I think that it would be better to wait. I haven't started to piece together a kit yet. I just don't want to have a kit laying around waiting a year to go in.
