    Fuel line connection question

I lost my connection tags after getting the bay resprayed so I was hoping for some confirmation on which fuel line connects where.

Can someone tell me the right connections to make?

I have the 2 at the top of the motor - fuel rail.

What you should do is identify the line that exits the fuel filter and trace that forward, as there is always a chance that the lines have been crossed over at some point in the last 30 or so years.

Remember, one of those hard lines is probably for the charcoal canister if equipped. Also, replace that old hose in your last pic, in fact, replace all soft fuel lines whenever they are even slightly suspect.

Thanks! I have identified the one that goes to the canister (it’s the bottom line). The two I’m pointing at (in the middle) are the ones that go to the fuel rail. Most of the hoses have been replaced - definitely something I continue to work through.

This is the fuel filter I should trace from, right? And it should route to the fuel pressure regulator on the front end of the fuel rail?

That looks like your primary fuel filter.

Not an M20 expert, but the supply line likely goes to the nipple on the rail and exits at the FPR. Typically, on a system with a return, a FPR opens/closes downstream of the last injector on the rail to maintain regular pressure. On a returnless system the FPR can go just about anywhere in the system. Often the supply hard line on BMWs is black and return is silver (90% confidence on that order), but this may be hard to determine at this stage of life for an E30.
