Alpina B7 engine?????

I found a ad for a Alpina B7 Turbo engine locally...I did a lil research, but found noting bout swappin them into E30's...
I may be wrong but I believe it from the BIG SIX platform and should be able to fit into the E30 snuglly?!?! :roll:

Anyone here know anything on this engine?? It sounds like it puts out some nice Hp AND Tq.

Ya that's true You'd probally need to find the switch Alpina added to run lower octane fuels.

Yes we know it fit's RS4PRO is doing one right now in na variant. His engine mounts are at my house as I write this.

Ya, Like Greg said, I have future plans to turbo or swap the engine out for a S38 as all the drivetrain stuff I has is interchangable.

OK so now I know it WILL fit.

Now I need to know what else I'm gonna need for this motor.....I t appears it has NO tranny..(so what tranny can I use???) What else do I need to know BEFORE really considering buying this Alpina B7 motor????

It seems to me that this motor makes some really descent power and Torque

254 ps and 265 tq. transmission would be any M30 unit.

This is the engine I'm in qustion about...I never link or put much thought into ebay items BUT this engine is locally......
Maybe I should just go with my original plans of a S50/52 swaps :roll:

Depends on your budget. It's old technology and you could do a TCD turbo for a US M30 and get great numbers. Check out www.e30m30.com

Ok well so far just getting the m30 ready to go into my car I've spent $1800 including $300 for the engine and tranny. I still have a good bit of money left to spend.

Or www.e30de.com Lot's of mods are needed. The m30 swap is for someone who enjoys a challege :D Every day something new pops up I need to buy, today it's the Charcol canister and vacume lines for it.

The seller wasn't selling the whole car, I wanted to but the only one I found was a rust bucket euro E23 with major body damage(it barely ran).
I do have an E28 donor car but it's an eta :evil: Then there is the 87 325is.

I've put a ton on new parts and a lot of E34 parts are needed to go into the e30 chassis, oil pan, pump, alt, power steering brackets, pump. Plus I wanted to retain AC so I had to find a bracket to use my e30 compresor, then all the gaskets, tune up parts, and more and more and more.
