    Rear shock mounts without gasket

I am replacing my rear shock mounts and shocks but forgot to buy the paper gasket (33526772864). How important is it to include it? Would it be easy to find locally? I don't really want to order a $1 part online.

Not easy to find locally, not the end of the world if you don't include them, especially if you live in California. If you're driving your car as a DD or in bad weather I'd put them in.

You can just cut your own out of thin cardstock, or ideally something thin non-brittle and waterproof. But if you are really lazy, use RTV.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like the gasket is just there to keep the elements out. I went ahead and ordered a pair. It sounds like it's fine to drive around a few weeks without them while I wait for the part.
