outter cv joints up front on the iX

I'm hearing clunk clunks from the front wheels on my iX... pretty sure its both outter CV joints.

How am I to go about fixing this - will I have to get new axles?

    Can I have them rebuilt?

I am under the impression that you can't just get outter cv's...correct?

Any help with this would be appreciated,

    TIA

have you checked to make sure its not balljoints or tierods? When does it clunk? all the time while driving? only at certain speeds?
Have you looked at the shafts and seen torn boots, etc?

Bad CVs make a pretty unique sound on turns.

Get a set of good used ones off of eBay, clean them up re-grease them and slap on some new boots.

Way cheaper than Remanufactured or even replacing the joints (unless you can get the killer deal).

pretty sure its the cv joints..

makes the clunk clunking only under throttle... only rolling forward.. and goes with the speed of the wheels.. etc.

If anyone sees any links to decent used axles, let me know!

It is possible to clean them, grease them, and buy new boots. However, depending on the condition.

          Diagram-

They also have boot kits for sale like on bavauto.com, bmaparts.com, etc. About $55 for each boot.
