    M20 fuel canister leaking

I changed out a rusted fuel tank in a 325i, drove it for about 50 mi then a block from my house it started sputtering and leaked fuel down the road. Once I stopped fuel poured out of the fuel canister under the master cylinder. I replaced it with a good one and it happened again. The canister is only to burn off the fuel vapors from the tank right.
I don't think I hooked anything up wrong.
Why is it doing this and what can I look at. I am going to swap the pump out for the one that was in the car. Is something blocked?

That is the charcoal cannister and it should never see liquid fuel. So something is seriously wrong with the various fuel and vent routing. Go back and look at every connection in the fuel and evap control system and figure out what is wrong.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That's what I am going to do today. I was just seeing if anyone had run across this before.
