    battery light on, when car is off.

    even if the key is out of the ignition, the battery light stays on.

    it's not illuminated when the car is running.

    it's at the tail end of an M30 swap, and my gut tells me it's an alternator issue. maybe regulator? or some sort of voltage drain.

    this just popped up all of a sudden, after the car had been started a few times.

    any ideas?

    It's happened twice to both my e30's in the past 2 months, and both times it was the voltage regulator.

        I came home tonight with the same problem out of the blue. Turned the car off and the battery light will not shut off! Help!

          I guy I work with says that is a diode in the altenator. His job is to rebuild generators/altenators. Just like e30nub said.
