    Issue installing RED46 Plate

So after work I went to go instal my RED46 plate along with my rack spacers I forgot to put on from the garagistic kit when doing my e36 rack swap. Spacers went in fine but it was just annoying getting the bolts in and try to line up the spacers and having the skid plate on me under the car. I know that the front of the skid plate mounts to the radiator core support and had a issue with this. It seems the core support bracket is way too short to actually meet up with the mounting bracket for the plate. I think rust might’ve started to spread and the PO just cut it off but idk. The only way I can see me making this work is by taking it to a metal guy, having him weld on some metal to make it a bit long and then that will allow me to put the bracket and skid plate on.

PS I know my radiator is rusted to hell, I’m going to fix that sometime soon but if you can’t find what part I mean, it’s under those two brackets and it looks Luke it’s been rolled up

It's a little tough to see from the angle of your photo, but that looks normal to me. The radiator support (on my car, at least) has kind of a rolled edge that made it a pain to fit the plate at first. I'm assuming this will get a little easier over time once it's bolted in place and the core support sort of bends. I went back in with a Dremel and carbide bit to widen the holes after drilling to make it a little easier. This is the only picture I have of mine installed, but it's doable after fiddling around for a while. If you have a spare jack to lift the skidplate while trying to get the bolts threaded through that makes life a lot easier.

Yeah, looks factory/correct to me. You can see the small rolled lip all the way along the edge, indicating it hasn't been modified.

Oh so that's how it's meant to be? I thought it started to rust and someone cut the rust off. I guess i can try and fit it again. Thanks a lot guys!
